Do you love the Dales? Can you spare an evening or lunch break to do something to help protect it?

How can I help? We urgently need people like you to do something to raise money for the Dales. If you’re big on baking, why not hold a cake sale at work? Or organise your own pub quiz or sponsored bike ride. Remember there’s strength in numbers, so if you can get your work colleagues, friends or local group involved, even better.

How do I get started? You’ll find some inspiration and advice on how to get started in our Fundraising Guide. Don’t forget to contact us and let us know so we can support you and promote your hard work.

Where will my money go? Every single penny you raise makes a difference to our work. Here are a just a few of the projects your money could help:

  • Hay time – Hay meadows are one of the most threatened habitats in the EU. One hectare can support up to 150 species of wildlife. We’ve helped to restore 280 hectares of hay meadow in the Dales and with your help we can continue to conserve and expand this rare natural resource.
  • Countryside Trainees – Young people are the future custodians of our landscape. The countryside trainee scheme provides opportunities for more young people to stay in the Dales and gain professional skills that will help manage the countryside.
  • People and the DALES – There are many people who can’t visit the Yorkshire Dales because they are disabled or disadvantaged in some way. With your help People and the DALES can help more people from hard-to-reach groups to visit and enjoy activities in the Dales.
  • Woodland Restoration – We all know trees are important. YDMT has already helped to plant over 1 million native broadleaf trees in the Dales. For every £10 donation we can plant and look after one tree.
