Learning about the meadows

Into the Meadows

Tanya St. Pierre, our Into the Meadows Project Officer, raises awareness about the importance of hay meadows by working with schools and providing free events for the public such as talks and guided walks.

An important part of the work has been developing the Into the Meadows resource pack, which is full of fantastic information, activities and games that aim to celebrate and explain to children the importance of hay meadows. The pack supports the delivery of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1 and 2. Hard copies of the pack are available to schools and community groups in the Yorkshire Dales, while DVD versions are more widely available - please contact Tanya on or 015242 51002 for further details.

Also have a look at the Hay Time page for details about other hay meadow resources.

Guided visits to hay meadows, learning about bumblebees or photographing wildflowers are just some of the wildflower-inspired events and activities taking place across the Dales in our annual Flowers of the Dales Festival. Find our more here.
