Dales Woodland Restoration

Near Hawes

During 2007 this project involved the creation of a new woodland of almost 50 acres in total.

A key objective was to improve habitat for Red Squirrel and Black Grouse. The project created a corridor between the existing Cotterdale woodland and a woodland further south in the Cotterdale valley. By planting the woodland with a range of species typical of the area in a natural planting scheme, the woodland enhanced and improved the landscape.
