HawesThe Yorkshire Dales LEADER Local Action Group were delighted to support a project from The Business Association (Wensleydale) Ltd with over £14,000 to develop joint marketing and promotional initiatives that will encourage Upper Dales businesses to work more collaboratively.
The project is a partnership between W R Outhwaite Ropemakers, The Dales Countryside Museum, Gayle Mill, The Wensleydale Creamery, The Business Association, Hawes and High Abottside Parish Council, Richmondshire District Council and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority. Colin Bailey, Interim Head of Economic Development, Richmondshire District Council, said ”It’s fantastic news that the attractions in the Upper Dales area are seeking to work together, bringing forward the recommendations of the Upper Dales Feasibiity Study. The project will explore joint marketing and ticketing opportunities as well as developing an online market place for Wensleydale products”. The project is supported until March 2012 through LEADER, The Business Association (Wensleydale) Ltd and Richmondshire District Council.

The funding for this project is being made available through the Rural Development Programme for England, which is jointly funded by Defra and the European Union.
