Sustainable Development Fund (SDF)

Wharfedale Beekeepers Association (WBKA) is a charity promoting beekeeping through education and training in Wharfedale. One of WBKA’s aims was to re-introduce bee keeping at Parcevall Hall, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where the several hundred year history of bee keeping had died out.
SDF helped to fund the construction of a wooden summer house at Parcevall Hall as well as signage and pathways. The summer house is open from April to October and houses educational displays about the honey bees and an observation hive. WBKA give free talks and demonstrations of the two active bee hives throughout the summer school holidays.
