About the course

This series of six sessions is aimed exclusively at GCSE and A-level students (14 – 18 years of age). The workshops will allow participants to develop printmaking skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Participants do not have to be pursuing art as a qualification but may just have an interest in this medium and want to learn more. Over the six weeks the workshops will cover monoprint using found materials, cutting and printing a five colour lino block, and building and printing from a painterly collagraph plate.

This course is part of Stories in Stone, a scheme of conservation and community projects concentrated on the Ingleborough area. The scheme was developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership, led by Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

She loves water and spends a lot of time painting by the sea or drawing waterfalls. Her Fine Art degree, MA and many years teaching helped develop her painting and printmaking, each material feeds back into the other, the layering, overprinting and intaglio techniques are present in all.
