Salmon Walk

23 October 2018

A scenic walk around Stainforth including a visit to Stainforth Force where we may be lucky enough to see the salmon leap!

A scenic Yorkshire Dales walk based around the village of Stainforth, including a visit to Stainforth Force where we may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the salmon leaping up the waterfalls as they head upstream to spawn. We'll also visit the nearby Hoffmann Kiln - an amazing structure on the edge of Langcliffe.

The walk is approximately 5-6 miles in length and it includes some steep slopes, rough terrain and high stiles. Paths may also be muddy and slippery in places, so please make sure you wear appropriate sturdy footwear. We also recommend that you bring a drink, snack and warm waterproof clothing.

It is a scenic route with lovely views of the iconic limestone landscape of Ribblesdale, with opportunities to hear about some of the projects that YDMT has been involved in locally.

We expect to finish the walk by around 1pm, after which you would be very welcome to join us for lunch at The Knights Table. It will simply be a case of choosing from the menu on the day and paying the café directly for your selection.
