Discoveries on your doorstep
Inspiring people to get outdoors and get walking, to discover nature, history and landscape on their doorsteps.
Discoveries on Your Doorstep encourages people to make the most of the outdoors in their local area by offering a series of planned walking routes in Selby and Scarborough, which take in heritage, cultural and natural landmarks.
They range from castles to canal towpaths, and offer a fascinating glimpse into parts of their communities that residents might otherwise overlook.
Discoveries on Your Doorstep is a partnership project run by North Yorkshire County Council Public Health and Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
It currently operates in Scarborough and Selby successfully, having grown out of a scheme, funded by Public Health and working with partners, to encourage people to use public rights of way.
