Cononley Playing Fields
Client: Cononley Parish Council
There was an existing play area to the west of the site, and a large open playing field to the east of the site. We worked extensively with Cononley Parish Council to produce a series of sketch design options to explore several different iterations of the design, in order to ensure that the final design was a result that the community endorsed.
The new work consisted of creating a new fenced Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), a perimeter cycle path (separate to an existing pedestrian footpath), complete with humps and a zebra crossing to ensure a clear separation of usage but maximize play value of the space. A small seating area was created adjacent to a new set of monkey bars, along with a new set of swings.
The existing play area had a new set of stepping logs, 2 new timber nature inspired woodland springers, and a new inclusive sand unit with pulleys, tables and chutes.
We oversaw production of all drawings, undertook all quantity surveying duties, tendered the work, and oversaw construction on site.
Work was completed in February 2023.
