A great opportunity to do something practical for nature conservation.

This practical session follows on from the Bumblebees for Beginners course, looking at some of the more scarce species found in the Forest of Bowland, followed by outdoor training on carrying out the Bumblebee Conservation Trust BeeWalk surveys to monitor the foraging bumblebees in the Forest of Bowland hay meadows.

Volunteers carry out a weekly transect, over six weeks, counting the bumblebees they see and the flowers they are feeding on.

This workshop is being delivered by Forest of Bowland AONB in partnership with Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. Donations would be welcome to www.championbowland.org.uk
