Pollinator Surveying

Broadrake Bunk Barn, Chapel-le-Dale

10am – 12pm Tuesday 4th May | FREE, donations welcome

If you would like to get involved in citizen science projects but aren’t sure where to start, then this course is for you. Learn to carry out two different national pollinator surveys and how to submit your results online.

This workshop will cover the methodology for carrying out a Flower Insect Timed Count and a BeeWalk, both of which contribute to nationally important pollinator monitoring schemes. How to set up your survey online, and submit your results will also be covered.

No prior experience is necessary but BeeWalks require a basic level of bumblebee identification. Why not join one of our bumblebee ID workshops too?

This workshop is being delivered for free as part of Bee Together a project that brings communities together to take action for pollinators in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding areas. We'd welcome your donations to help protect our precious pollinators.
