Our 2010-11 Supporter Woodland

Lamberts wood is situated on the riverbank adjacent to the picturesque Aysgarth Falls in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Two areas of woodland have been planted, amounting to 1.75 hectares in total, which link in with other woodlands in the surrounding area, including Freeholders and St Josephs on the opposite bank. The sites contain Ash, Rowan, Oak, Holly and Hawthorn along with a high proportion of Hazel which were chosen because the area is a favoured habitat of dormice; a species for which Hazel provides an excellent food source.

Access and directions

There is a footpath running from the rear of the church yard at Aysgarth Falls to Hestholme Bridge which passes both areas of planting. The woodland is situated on private land – perimeter access only along the footpath is allowed.
