Plant a memory in our new supporter woodland
This Autumn we are celebrating National Tree week and the launch of our Christmas woodlands campaign with the opening of a new supporter woodland in Beamsley.
Beamsley Wood is nestled in the scenic countryside between Skipton and Addingham and was recently planted with 5,000 trees in partnership with landowner, Robert Shelton.
The trees are individually protected with guards to allow them to thrive in their early years and are a blend of native broadleaf species, including oak, birch, aspen, sycamore, cherry, hazel, rowan and hawthorn.
The peaceful spot offers stunning views across the River Wharfe to the Bolton Abbey estate and adjoins an ancient woodland that has stood for hundreds of years. The new woodland is accessible to supporters via a network of public footpaths taking in Langbar, the Beamsley
Beacon and Bolton Bridge. Visitors are welcome to explore using the easily navigable paths created by Rob and his team through the new woodland.
To ensure that the woodland can be enjoyed by all and for future generations please:
- Keep dogs on lead at all times
- Leave no trace of your visit by taking all litter home with you, including bagged dog waste
- Do not light BBQs, fires or camp.
This woodland is not accessible by vehicles (including cycles) or on horseback.
You can dedicate a tree at Beamsley Wood from 1st November 2025 – why not be the first to dedicate yours in this stunning new location. For more information please visit: www.ydmt.org/tree-gifts.
