Stories in Stone

Stories in Stone is an ambitious programme of conservation and community projects which aim to conserve, enhance and celebrate the unique limestone landscape around the peak of Ingleborough.

Grants for creating new woodlands in the Ingleborough area

Grants of up to 100% are being offered to landowners and tenants who want to create new native woodland on their land in the Ingleborough area. 15 hectares of new woodland will be created in appropriate locations within the Stories in Stone area. Native broadleaf woodland is an important habitat used by birds, mammals and invertebrates as ‘stepping stones’ for dispersal. It also acts to slow the flow of floodwaters coming off the fells and is an important landscape features in it's own right.

Woodland grants can cover up to 100% of the cost os a new woodland

Grants can cover up to 100% of the cost of a new woodland
