Dales Woodland Restoration

Tree planting is one of the most important things you can do for the environment. We’re working together with our partners and supporters to create a landscape with more native broadleaf woodlands for people and wildlife.

Thinking of planting a new woodland?

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust offer free advice and funding to support the creation of new native broadleaf woodlands. Working with partners including Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority and the Forestry Commission we can provide advice on woodland planting, design and specification, help you complete your application, identify other potential funding opportunities and recommend contractors to carry out the work for you.

Our grants support the creation of new woodlands in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale AONB. Applications from outside this area will also be considered if they meet funding criteria.

We are not accepting new woodland grant applications at this time however if your woodland is in the Ingleborough area you may be eligible to apply for a grant through the Stories in Stone scheme. Find out more.
