Outreach Project Assistant

Outreach Project Assistant | Full-time 35 hours per week permanent role | £25,131 - £27,903

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is a small charity doing big things to support People, Landscape and Wildlife in the Yorkshire Dales. In the last year we have inspired more people than ever before to care for and enhance the precious environment and communities of the Dales.

Demand for our outreach work is higher than ever, and we now need someone to join the team so we can focus our work where it’s needed most - providing greater access to nature for people from underrepresented groups.

About Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

Over the last 25 years YDMT has delivered diverse and inspirational projects. Our vital work has helped to plant 1.6 million trees and secure the future of over 850 hectares of wildflower hay meadows, creating habitats for our wildlife and combatting climate change. We’re passionate about inspiring disadvantaged groups and future generations to care for this special part of the world.

About the role

We are looking for someone who is passionate about our work and able to assist in the delivery of the Green Futures outreach programme. Helping to foster opportunities for people in and around the Yorkshire Dales to enjoy, learn about and help conserve the historical and natural environment of this unique landscape.

We believe the role of Project Assistant with YDMT will be a highly rewarding one, and a real opportunity for someone to develop their skills in a fantastic organisation, whilst benefiting this wonderful area and its communities.

About you

We're looking for someone with excellent people skills, alongside previous experience of supporting the delivery and logistics of engagement activities in the natural environment for a diverse range of groups including young people, underrepresented communities and people with disabilities.

You'll need knowledge of current environmental issues and inequalities and how they impact on underrepresented groups and communities, as well as an awareness of issues effecting young people and their participation in these kinds of activities.

Above all it's key that you can work within our culture – which means being creative, caring, honest and enabling.
