Upland birds of Ingleborough

Natural pottery - how to make a botanical mobile 

Learn how to create a botanical mobile using found materials, foraged plants and air-dry clay. Course tutor Rachel will take you through the materials and equipment she uses with her technique for producing these unique, nature-inspired mobiles. 

Rachel started her own pottery business in 2015 and uses uses white and dark stoneware clays for her hand thrown and hand built pottery. With a background in conservation and agriculture, the landscape of the Yorkshire Dales has been hugely influential in her work. You can find out more about Rachels work on her website www.rachelinthedales.co.uk.


Wildflower propagation 

In this video, learn about local provenance seed collection, sowing, potting on, cuttings, planting out and meadow management with Rachel of Broadrake Bunkbarn in the Yorkshire Dales. Rachel shares methods they have followed at Broadrake to manage an area of rank grassland since 2012, to restore it to an upland hay meadow.
